Wood staining & trim
Original Craftsman and Tudor millwork stripped, stained and finished with a sprayed clear build.
Learn moreTosa’s older neighbourhoods are full of 1920s and 30s craftsmanship that rewards being taken back rather than covered up.
Wauwatosa is across the metro from our Glendale shop, and we work there because the housing is worth the drive. The neighbourhoods around the Village and through Washington Highlands hold a concentration of 1920s and 1930s Tudors, Craftsman bungalows and period revival homes with the millwork and detailing to match.
The work here has a lot in common with Whitefish Bay: original woodwork with decades of accumulated finish, plaster rather than drywall, panelled doors worth refinishing, and kitchens that have been updated at least twice since the house was built.
Tosa also has a substantial stock of post-war and later housing further out, which brings the more familiar mix of dated-but-sound kitchens, hollow-core interior doors and ceiling textures that need matching after a repair.
Wauwatosa is our longest regular trip, so we schedule Tosa work in efficient blocks. For spray finishing we generally take components back to the shop rather than setting up containment twice.
Free, written, itemised and fixed. No obligation and no pressure.

Learn moreWe are straight with Wauwatosa clients about geography: you are further from our shop than our North Shore work, and pretending otherwise would just produce a schedule we could not hold.
In practice we handle it by batching. Tosa jobs get scheduled in blocks so we are not making half-day round trips for twenty minutes of work, and anything sprayable comes back to Glendale to be finished in controlled conditions rather than requiring a second containment setup on site.
The upside for you is that the shop-finished components — doors, cabinet fronts, trim, furniture — come back with a better finish than they would have got in a spare bedroom, regardless of which suburb they started in.
